I am recruiting for internship positions. Are your recruiting events marketed only to seniors? CONNECT-Iowa recruiting events are widely marketed to all students on our campuses. More targeted emails and advertising may also be sent to students with specific majors and to faculty to promote awareness of the participating employers and jobs, internships, and other opportunities they have posted.
Some of my positions require experience. Will alumni be applying to these positions? Our events are designed to connect employers with students currently attending our schools. We encourage employers to post internships, jobs, and other opportunities that require work experience through our member schools. Visit our events page to learn more how to post.
I need to recruit for several different positions. Can I have more than one interview schedule? Yes! Additional schedules can be added at a reduced price as an employer registers for the event or after reviewing the resumes they’ve received.
What if I have a conflict on the interview day? Can I still recruit through the event? Yes! Employers that recruit through our event with a Resume Collection post their positions in our online system and receive the same advertising as employers that attend our event. Students are informed that employers with a Resume Collection will follow up with candidates they’re interested in to arrange phone, video, or in-person interviews on a different date.
Are there more benefits of participating in an interview day event beyond acquiring applicants and participating in the official event? CONNECT-Iowa puts great effort into making sure quality students participate in our events. In addition to helping you secure applicants, we are increasing your brand awareness at our 24 institutions through targeted emails and class presentations, which promote your involvement in our events.
How do I set up an interview schedule? When you register for one of our events, your schedule is automatically arranged with a 15-minute break between each 30-minute interview. Around noon, there is a 30-minute break for lunch.
What if I can only attend an event for half a day or need to leave early? Our interview events are typically 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. We will gladly alter your schedule’s start/stop time if you are not able to participate the full day, but each interview is set to a 30-minute duration. There is a place on the event registration form that asks if schedules need to be altered. If you have more questions about this, please contact the Recruiting and Program Coordinator for assistance.
